I ordered the set, front and rear, £458 inl. p+p  from Calamander. They arrived well packed and within the time frame advised by Calamander.

First impressions were that the workmanship was excellent but the fabric does not appear to be stuck to the foam which I found rather odd.

Off with the old seat and on with the new, well that was the plan anyway!
Incredibly difficult to put the riders seat on :spitfire The front plastic 'u' that metal bar fits in is actually in two pieces for some reason, the bottom part can be displaced, I displaced both sides but not at the same time :spitfire
It took at least an hour to have the seat on in what I hope/assume is the correct position, so bad I considered sending it back. Wondering if I was the problem I tried the original seat on a few times and it went on easily. Now at some stage I have to remove the Sargent but I am reluctant as I know it will be hell putting it back. No problem at all with the pillion.
I spoke to Calamander and this is the first time they have heard of this problem. Anyone else out there had trouble or have an idea how to fix it?

That is the bad news, the good news is that the seat appears to be very comfortable.

I'm afraid I can't comment on the version for the 1200, but I have a pair of Sargeant seats on my R1150GS.

For what it's worth, I always had problems fitting the standard GS pillion seat. The Sargeant fits like a dream. Overall workmanship and quality of my Sargeant seats is very good, at least as good as the standard BMW offering.
The icing on the cake, indeed, the reason I bought the Sargeants was for the alleged comfort. The Sargeant seat far exceed all my highest expectations and I have done 500 miles+ in comfort. If I had been asked to turn around and ride all the way back, I would have, confident that my nether regions would be cossested by these fabulous seats!!!!!! Top piece of kit if you ask me :thumb :thumb :thumb

I finally got around to looking at the problem, removed the Sargent seat then compared dimensions with the original. There are differences of up to a couple of mm between the plastic mounts that secure the bar, as these slot around the plastic bits on the bike it is fairly critical.
The edges of the plastic mounts on the Sargent were very sharp and had minor damage probably caused by me trying to get the thing in! I cut a 2mm chamfer all the edges and the seat went on without a problem! :D :D
