Just wondering if anyone has managed to fit a Sat Nav above the speedo on a 650 Dakar. It looks like the best spot but there doesn't look like there is enough room for a Ram Ball.

Any ideas, just don't like it fitted to the bars.

Cheers

There is a perfect place for your Twatnav....
1) just in front of the rear wheel before you drive off.
2) underneath the seat.
3) in the bag that gets forgotten and left at home:aidan

These are Turnertech guaranteed suggestions..

You can always ring Lizzy and ask her how to get home:D:D:D:D:D

I did mine like this:

Cheers Tony. Thets whati'm after :clap:clap:clap:clap

Is long as I can raise the standard 2000 screen like that I should be able to mount a ram ball onto the headlight cowling rather that making a bracket.

Do you get any buffeting from changing the angle on the screen????

I'd already messed around with the screen angle in an effort to reduce wind noise before I fitted the GPS but it didn't cause any buffeting. However this is a very personal thing and what suits one rider seems not to work for another, some people rate the Dakar screen in the standard position whereas I hated it!
I eventually solved(well nearly!) the wind noise by cutting the top lip off the screen which gives a much cleaner and quieter airflow.
The whole OEM instrument/screen/headlight mounting is pretty poorly constucted in my view and does vibrate around over bumps or off road which is even more noticable with the extra weight of the GPS so I'm not sure if it would be suitable to fit a RAM mount without some reinforcement.
