Satellite reception

Has it been a bad day for satellite reception in the south-east today or is my 2610 playing silly b*****s?.

Any trees seem to make it lose the signal

STRANGE BUT TRUE>(Ithink)

Last Friday I couldn't pick up any satellites in my work van on my 2610.Then I tried it in my car on the way home and it was fine.It also worked O.K.on the bike yesterday.Back to work today,no satellites again!.
Now,a few days ago I had a new screen fitted to the van so I thought I'd hold the unit outside the van.BINGO!!.Everything worked.Brought it back inside and lost reception again.
Is it possible for the screen to block the signal or am I just clutching at straws?.
P.S.If it is the screen ,would an external aerial help?.

Very much so. The newer reflective screens block the signal almost completely. I bought one of these external aerials for £4.99 for my Laguna, and it now works perfectly.
