Today, I stopped by a dealer in Paris to get a few bolts tightened on me 1200GS (I don' have yet a proper toolkit for those new shaped bolts
) and, low and behold, there was the new adventure...
Looks very strange, even more so than the 12GS when it came out.
Fuel tank looks very wide from the front , but does not bother when sitting on the bike.
Seat is similar as 1200, probably as uncomfortable.
Front fork and spoke wheels look great. Crash bars going around tank a bit awkward. The windscreen is taller, a bit more curvy and has two additional side screens to reduce air flow.
Pannier rack look really solid and blends well with frame.. The model didn't have the cases yet.
The bike was on its centerstand on a special carpet so I could get it on it's wheels, but it clearly looks taller.
I like the metal wide footpegs (I find my rubber ones slippery at times).
All in all, I think this bike will be great for the real enduro/tral rider, but probably doesn't not add much more to the everyday commuter, apart good looks and longer fuel range.
