Hi

I am lucky enough to be going to the Scarborough Gold Cup this weekend but I am starting from Cambridge on Friday and have all day in front of me. I do not know this area between Cambridge and Scarborough so:

1 I could do the A1 quickly, cross the M62 and enjoy some riding around the Moors; or
2, Take a more leisurely route up through Lincolnshire, cross the Humber bridge and then follow the coast road upto Scarborough.

I would be very appreciative of some advice from the East Anglia parish.

Many thanks.

I would take your second option John.

Was going to recomend doing number 2 but it didn't seem...........:blast

Once you're across the Humber Bridge, I'd recommend routing yourself via Beverley and Driffield (on the A164) and then the B1249 which is a glorious roller coaster of a road culminating in the drop down Staxton Hill onto the A64 where you turn right for the final run into town. That B road will form part of my run up on Friday night - as it always does.

Thanks I will venture up the A16 and see where it takes e some. If time permits the B1257 through the heart of the Moor looks promising - according to Google maps anyway.
