I have a Schuberth C2 helmet, and whilst I generally like it I have one irritating problem.

Whilst the visor mechanism is very smooth, I cannot ride at speeds above about 40mph without the visor coming down. My riding partner has exactly the same problem with his Concept. It's not the screen because my old, spare helmet does not have this problem.

I will be riding through Spain shortly and being able to ride with the visor open would be very beneficial at times. As I want to keep the sun visor facility, had anyone found a way of making the ratchet stiffer.

I suppose at the end of the day I could simply take it off and just use the sun visor!

Thanks in advance for any help.

No.

It's always done that on my C1 as well as my C2.

If it's extra air you want, then just pop the visor forward. You can do this on both sides and it works well enough for me...

The other option (although I think it's illegal) is to flip the chin open and ride like that.

I've never tried messing around with the mechanism for lots of reasons

Not sure this helps, but my concept is good with the visor open - certainly up to 100 and SWMBO's C2 is the same. Worth checking with Schuberth? :nenau

Thanks for the replies lads.

I think if it gets too hot, I'll simply take it off and use the sun visor!
