I am renewing my chain and sprokets and am planning on fitting a scottoiler or simillar thingy. I commute to work (only 3 days a week about 26miles a day) and ride socially at weekends etc not planning on doing any touring just yet but it may be on the cards for the future.

SO which ones do other people use or which one would u recommend??

Scott Oiler with the dual head attachment. Cuts down on the amount of oil used, thereby reducing fling, while at the same time putting the oil exactly where you need it :thumb

Scottoiler. A good product and perhaps more importantly, superb customer service. Of course....it's made in Scotland...... :D

I had a problem siting the dual head...I`ve taken the black plastic chainguard/mudguard off and replaced it with an alloy item from Germany which freed up the mounting point below the swingarm near the rear sprocket. I tried to fit the dual head so it would drop oil just before the chain ran onto the rear sprocket but I`m assuming chain bounce kept whacking the dual injector causing it to break. I`ve now mounted it so the injector knibs are either side of the sprocket (just)....I feel better for sharing that.

I have a 2 scottoilers, one the normal and one the touring, i also have a lubetronic, but i have used a loobman also, if its cheap you want a loobman works, but buy the separate duel delivery head of scottoiler, as its better than the loobman ends of cable ties delivery system, the pipes dont quite fit together, but can be bodged, don't by the lubetronic, its hard to fill and hard to know how much is left in it, cheapist though, is a bottle of engine oil and a paintbrush after cleaning with brake cleaner and a rag :nenau
