Scrambler Ban - Affects all bikes?????

Unfortunately we have a cop in court for dangerous driving and convicted. 2 years off the road. He was trying to catch “scrambler”. JJH
Saw that in the news, really don't understand how that works.

The issue I think is law never needed be changed as these "scramblers" were already illegal for the road. No diff if I got a scrap car and began tearing around.

Ireland needs to follow UK and allow tactical intervention.

The issue with the Garda isn't going help others follow the law. one item i see if the whole "that yoke looks like one of those scramblers" a question I have been asked few time when out filling up with fuel. It will be upto the bike owner to convince the Garda that the enduro bike he has is legal, taxed and insured.

Chatting lad from Dublin last week and he said when he was around Finglas there has been no change to the amount lads ripping around on bikes

Back in the 80s there was an epidemic of car stealing. Joy riding. 12,13 year old up were stealing cars and actively looking to get chased by cops. There was for a while kids stealing cars and immediately setting them on fire. It was a kind of competition. Many were out of it in lighter fuel. Just because this new law is out isn’t really going to change anything. I don’t see pit bikes mentioned. JJH

If they just clarified what road legal vehicle was and where can be used would sorted it. Pit bike, motor cross, enduro etc they are all "scramblers" in their eyes from what i could work out when listened to them talking about it

All going well won't affect honest users, cant see if stopping whats still going on is the illegal use of vehicles on the roads and public areas
