Hi, I have a 2003 650GS and have been thinking about getting another screen but not to sure what I am after. I have searched and read for some other information on the forum and have some ideas. Does the screen go over the top of the current one or replace it?
Does anyone have any recommendations at all?
Any help as always appreciated

I have an 05 with 4 mounting holes, i believe your model year is a similar format but with only three, and as far as i'm aware both models replace the original screen, i know mine does. I got once from bs motorsports of ebay, theyre in germany and supply puig screens, who i think also make the BMW ones re-badged. Had a couple of screens fitted, when i get home i'll upload some pics with decriptions.

OK. I have bought a screen from Ebay (in the UK) and have had it shipped to Oz but when I try to fit it the holes do not line up. Two of them are OK but the third is just out by about 1cm or so.
the desciption on Ebay was just foer a F650GS screen and when it came it said on it F650GS Tall Screen.
All I got was the screen. Should it have come with screws?
Are there are changes between models which would imply why the screws do not line up.
It would be a shame if I can not get it to fit so any help would be appreciated:blast

I was having another go at the screen yesterday and basically I think I can line up the holes but the screws just dont seem to be long enough to go through and hold the screens in place. Is it possible to buy longer screws?

Longer screws

You can get single screws from Stagonset.co.uk - not sure if they post to Oz though.

You will need to remove the silver plastic short screen. This is the case with most screens for the 00-03 650GSs. Basically if the screws don't line up you need to remove the silver screen.

If you have bought a BMW tall screen (there are two, one is the Dakar narrow at the top but with an obvious flip. The other looks like a giant false fingernail) you will need longer screws plus the 'boomerang and horse shoe' reinforcement parts. These bits are all readily available from your BW dealer. He will be able to tell you where they go too.

Hope this helps. PM me if you need any more help.

also don't buy special bolts, any standard m5 bolt will do the job, pop down the local hardware store with one of the oem one's in your hand and ask for a longer one. :D

You need a U-shaped spacer that fits between the screen and bodywork.

Had a look for pictures, but I must've deleted them.
