Just noticed that my screen seemed a bit wobbly when I got home this evening. I went to tighten it up but no difference. Turns out that the subframe that the screen fits onto has broken through on both sides. I've removed the screen and the subframe (now in 3 pieces) so I can still use the bike.

Only problem is that I can't find the relevant part number so that I can order a new one. Had a look at the 'windshield' part diagram at http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/fiche/DiagramsMain.aspx?vid=51556&rnd=03192010 which helpfully shows me the part in question but no number.
Any ideas?

Not sure what has caused this as there are a few culprits. I have a GSA screen on the bike (not a GSA); looks like some of the fittings weren't on corresctly from the last time it was put together (not by me); plus there was a wee offroad tumble a few years ago. Take your pick.

Oddly enough, it has only just come back from a 48k service and was presumably fine then. (I always seem to have things going wrong shortly after a service )

£162.01 (inc VAT). Absolutely bonkers!

I must have spent pretty much £2k to keep the thing on the road this year. So far!

One way or another I think I'll be looking for an alternative in the Spring.

+1 simples... sleeve it, weld it, grind it, finish it, paint it & fit it,
Even if you have to get someone to weld it for you the cost will be substantialy less painful.

I don't think I'd feel safe with that. The break is just where the thing bolts onto the subframe. In any case, it's made of flippin cheese.

Trying to post a pic...
