Screen supports

Removed my Cymarc Screen Supports from my 1200GSA and am going to get around to fitting them to my 1250GSA.
I can't find the fitting instructions, does anyone have them to hand that could email me a copy please ?

? if you have removed them just reverse the process its not that hard

I emailed Cymarc when I had a problem installing mine and he sent me a video that helped

The main thing is to get the mushroom bracket attached to the top of the screen first so it can support the bracket while you install it. That way it's a two hand operation rather than a 3 hand.
You can install it without removing anything other than the screws that mount the brackets. A magnet on a stick helps grab the nuts from the two bolts on each side.
Easy :)

Removed them quite some time ago. There are different length bolts so just want to get the right bolt in the right hole

Pretty sure the long bolts go on the left side. I replaced mine recently, as the ones supplied by Cymarc appear to be made of cheese and were on the verge of rounding off when I eventually fitted them to my GSA.

Sorted, quick email to Cymarc and instruction sheet emailed back to me 👍🏼

I have the Puig ones fitted, did 3000 miles last year around Schwarzwald, also had a small screen deflector fitted (a bit like MRA X-screen but cheap Chinese one) had no issues whatsoever, bought them from busters on eBay. as del1150 wrote no need to loosen anything to adjust screen up n down.

Just read on the linky that it will raise the OE screen by an extra 8 centimetres. Kwallace, let us know how you get on.

I find this claim to be quite interesting.
On my bike (1250GSA), the limiting factor for rising/lowering the screen is within the adjustment system. I am curious to learn how a simple support bracket will make the adjustment system rise the screen another 8 cm.

In my experience, Puig is NOT a BS company as such, but I struggle to see how it may work.

I’ve got the Cymarc ones, they are ok, but what I have found, the thumb screws work loose, you end up tightening them up, then the 3D printed thumb wheel breaks, as its not very strong. I got one replaced (Marc sent 2 just in case) and the replacement broke as well, so now on third one. However, the screen still wobbles, even with brace, due to the poor design by BMW. The cheap plastic slider mechanism, hidden down next to the headlight, has too much play in it. Why BMW couldn’t have designed this better, even I can see that the sliding pole and cheap plastic attachment, is going to introduce a lot of free play, resulting in a wobbly screen. Maybe someone could come out with an improved mechanism, with better tolerances.
