Screwed up display in Chrome/IE8 on eBay and Facebook

Only happens on this machine (running XP SP3) when accessing eBay and FaceBook but it's not browser specific as it happens with Chrome, IE8 and FireFox.

Other machines on the network are fine. All other websites are fine.

Think it might be something to do with CSS or javascript or something, but can't find any references on Internet to help. Tried cllearing browser cache.

That is because the CSS is not downloaded... try a CTRL F5 (full refresh...)

I've tried CTRL+F5 but no joy initially, but now it's working OK in Chrome.

But not in IE8. Never mind, Chrome is my preferred browser...

they look like the mobile/ low bandwith version of the sites. are you using a 3g dongle or the like

No. Sometimes the sites kick in and display OK, but most of the time not.

OK on other computers on the network. Mostly running Windows 7 but one machine running Windows 2003 Server is also OK on the sites. So it's something to do with THIS pc and THESE sites.
