currently got a 256mb in the 2610, i always like to carry a backup when i go traveling though,
so am in the market for a couple of 1gb cards

as i have about 7 sandisk '1gb' sd cards for my cameras, i was thinking of just buying an adapter like this one from maplin

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=48016

to make them fit my 2610 and use them instead :)

anyone else used one in there 2610?

Will you still be able to close the CF compartment if the SD card is protruding?

Not an issue in the car perhaps, but a bugger if it's pouring with rain on the bike.

Q) Does the SD card fully insert into the adapter (i.e. no protrusion)? Some SD/CF adapters do not and I intend to use this with a DSLR camera, so this is important to mt application. - Dave Sexton
A) No the card will protrude from the adapter and is designed mainly for use card readers etc

This from the site that you advertised. I think that says to me don't do it because the cover of the 2610 won't close over it.

imgonna have to get some glasses:D

although i just read this too

Q) Comment: I bought this Adapter and, contary to comments in the FAQ, the SD card does NOT protrude - You CAN use this adapter in a DLSR camera - It works perfectly in my EOS 350D - Jimmy

You can get a Sandisk 1gb card for £17 inc P&P from 7dayshop thus saving you a couple of quid :thumb

i just put an order in for a couple of cards and a pc card adapter :)

would have been good to have an adapter, so i could use my existing sd cards but the adapter price is a bit too expensive considering the price of CF cards at the mo..
