I have a an 06 GS 1200, according to the owners book there should be 3 positions for the seat. when I took the seat off I found there is no adjustment.
is this another saving in the 06 model or have I go different seat from standard? any thoughts?

Seat position

Hi,

If its a standard seat - should be 4 positions available.

Two bars, 1 front of seat one at back. 2 positions for each.... high and low...that gives you the option of 4 settings.

If you are new to GS's, and the seat is standard, you can move the bars between high and low position with some effort...they are elasticated rubber ties. Hope this helps.

I have mine set on high at the front and low at the back...making the seat position more parallel to the ground, I found having both on high tilted me forward a little too much.
I'm 6'1" so its not a height issue just a comfort one. Happy riding.

hi, if its a standard seat it will have adjustment bars as described by mike. i have the bmw low seat on my 06 gs and there is no adjustment on it, maybe yours is the low option, just a guess

thanks mike and twig, The description in the owners book is as mike desribes, but I have two bars front and two back (one each side) so I guess I have the low seat as per twig. I'm 5.9 so its just ok half inch lower would have been better. thanks for the info. My bike is supplied in Malaysia, so guess its for the local who tent to be even shorter than me.
