I have a R1150 GSA and am planning to swap the seats to the Sargent GS style when I get a chance (and Tims help probably :)

But...

Quick question, when I took my wife out for her first ever pillion trip to Ireland last month, she complained that with me being a "short & twig like" shape and the GSA seat profile she didn't get to see a lot of Ireland other than what went past quickly sideways... :) She just can't see over or round me....

Does the GS rear seat give her more height than the GSA bench style? It looks like it but I am not sure.... I suppose I could always stick an airhawk on top of the seat to boost her up more.. On the K1200S she can just about see over a shoulder if the wind is he right direction.... no chance on the GSA

Consider a conversion to Corbin front and rear arrangement - you will need to source the 1150 gs rack and loving mechanisms which isn't as expensive nor difficult to acquire/change as it all sounds - a few of us already have this on our gsa's.

Our lass (all 5'2" of her) sits head above me ands gets full vision.

I think the sergent seat will give the same view.

Oh definately ... The mrs love you long time :-)

(The above post should say 'locking' and not 'loving' ...bloody predictive text and ale!)

Standard Seats???

If you are "average" height you will probably use the riders seat in the LOWER position which should help your wife's view - BUT I'm not sure if a Corbin rider's seat is thicker, and higher than a standard seat?
As a starting point would it not be worth trying the full STANDARD seat set up from a GS before getting involved in Corbin's?
My wife and I have toured all over Europe for years with the standard seats - she finds the rear set excellent, I can't say the same for the front:rolleyes: - but it's fine - we've done over 170k with this set up.
Many people rave about Corbins - but equally, just as many have spent vast amounts of money on them, then end up selling them because they don't like them.
You could try a standard set up fairly easily/cheaply - and as somebody else pointed out, you would need all the standard rack and seat fixings anyway to try the Corbins.

I have the fitting kit and I have a Sargent GS set up (and I actually now have a standard GS seat) as well as my GSA bench seat.

I was just asking if people found that a GS pillion seat (any) gave the pillion a better view than the GSA standard bench...

Yes it does, in my opinion.
especially if you have the front standard gs seat on the lower setting.

of course depends how long in the body your pillion is:D

also handy when the pillion falls asleep ,and can put their head on your shoulder:eek:
