Hi folks

Don't know anyone there but if you are near the border there is Saddlecraft at South Shields who are very good

I have a contact in my phone that says "Donald upholstery work 01383 740206" which means he's in Dunfermline. From memory, he's a guy I met in Forth Gear and I'm pretty sure Colin there said he'd had a seat done by him and he did a good job.

Oh and I almost forgot these folk in Glasgow - http://www.area51customcycles.co.uk I know they look like badass banditos but a certain BMW dealership not a million miles away from you, uses them to reshape and lower seats on new bikes when factory low ones are out of stock. Having dealt with them, I found them to be nice guys and very helpful.

Thanks folks
I was thinking of having the seat on my wee n/o 2 bikie (650 trannsalp) re shaped to raise the sitting height a bit instead of lowering the pegs .
A wee bit extra leg room is what's required for ye long haul stuff :thumb

Would lowering the pegs not be a better option as far as reaching the ground with both feet and still give a more relaxed position. It would be easier to manoeuvre a loaded bike.

It is certainly an option , but I can definitely manage a wee bit more height ( my normal ride is a GSA 12)
And it's a fair point about a loaded bike, the reason I use the wee trannie for serious camping trips is for exactly the reason you have identified .I can manage the trannsalp with ALL the camping gear on where I simply cannot do on the 1200
If I did not ride 2 up long distance. The smaller bike,s would do me fine :thumb2
