Mornin' All.

Has anyone got any neat ways to lock a pair of helmets to their bike? At present I use an Abus shackle lock but could do with something smaller.

Thanks.

Russ.

Halfords

...and others do 'self-coiling' steel cables (plastic coated) that work a treat - feed through both helmets and lock to the bike. Used one last summer and secured two helmets and two jackets (through a sleeve) with the one cable. Very handy if you're touring...

I'm with you there Paulf, use the same thing myself and find it dead handy for the helmets 'n' stuff. Small and easy to store and cheap as well. :D

It was Bike....

An Oxford products cycle lock free with the mag. Great for the second lid.

Also bought a cable lock thing from Milletts. Round the rack, through the Ortleib bag handles and through the pannier rails (in fact anywhere - the cable is quite long!!) and then both helmets.

Reasonably secure for motorway services stops etc.

helmet lock

As usual BMW put 0% thought into this one!!!
Why does a bike for two only have one helmet lock?
I solved it simply by buying a second helmet lock unit (about £12 I think) and secured it in the same place as the other one only on the left hand side of the bike - comes with shims to key to match bike ignition as with panniers
Sherpa;)

Got my freebie with Bike, just the Job........:D

The only Bike I have owned that catered for two helmets was a K1, one either side under the small rear pocket/panniers.

Pacsafe may be an option

I use a good aussie product called Pacsafe check it out Here . The one I have fits 2 helmets in just. I still put a cable through the eye hole when in really suspect areas.

Hope it helps.

Pacsafe

I considered that, but in the end it was too expensive, too heavy and some users have reported scratches to the bike if some plonker knocks the stuff off the seat...

Computer cable lock called "Defcon 1".

Bloody loud alarm on it and easily long enough to go through the openings in 2 or more full face helmets and around a part of the bike.
