Staying in Sedan next month, intending to get back home (more or less) that day. Trying to get the quickest route back to Blighty as a ferry in Portsmouth awaits.
Have tried plotting routes on my Nav 6, on Google, the AA routeplanner and they all seem to vary in time between 3:50 at 4:20. I had thought that getting on to the A26 Route Anglais down at Reims would be much quicker but seemingly not.
I was expecting to see about the three hour mark - am I being overly optimistic?

Yes, very optimistic. Roads out of Sedan are busy especially as a bridge is still closed. We were there last year and it was a ballache.

Get out of bed an hour earlier, take the D1043 to Cambrai and stop at a boulangerie for breakfast. Is that a hardship?

Google’s estimate this morning is five and a half hours, Sedan to Calais.

This is not surprising as it’s a ‘Black Saturday’ when the whole of France gets out of bed to go on holiday.

As Wessie says, get up earlier and crack on.

Ah, but can you tell me how long it will be sometime next month?

Looks like I will have to go and get an alarm clock, but will I set it to GMT, CET, or Zulu time?
Problems,problems.

I simply took a leaf out of your book.
