Which would you fit and why?
I've built and ridden quite a few seibenrock kitted 800/ 1000 engines,
I'm tempted to use a set of the omega pistons on my next engine, any feed back from someone who's used a set.

I have moorespeed pistons in my r100 with gas flowed heads and moorespeed one piece valves running 32 mm bings and it goes very well indeed.
I have never had a go with the seibenrock kit so I could not tell you how they compare.

The seibenrock'd bikes have more than enough go ,nice torque ,I should add all of them have had a slight rework on the squish clearance.
But I want a bit more ,most chaps I've conversed with believe the twin likes a bit of compression:green gri
Cost wise its around the same by the time I've had some cylinders bored and replated,
I havnt got heads or carbs yet so final spec is flexible,
I'm thinking the higher comp pistons will give it a really strong upper midrange.

A few years back Migsel and I swapped bikes and gave them a bit of a thrash. Acceleration wise there was nothing in it between my standard mono and migsels siebenrock 1000cc bike. It was only when we rode them properly that I was able to appreciate the better midrange.

If it was me I'd put a standard 79/80 RS spec engine together being very careful of valve and guide selection. I'd even keep the clamshell airbox and 40mm carbs. In the RS with 33:11 gearing this would still pull into the redline giving a genuine 127mph top speed. Obviously you won't hit this without the fairing. If you then feel you want more then fit a pair of omega Pistons.

As soon as they went to light flywheel they lost the feel of the engine and also started throwing up bullshit figures for bhp.

In 1996 I put standard 1000cc RS barrels and pistons into my g/s ( before I triked it :blast ) and beefed up the front forks a tad.....best fun I ever had and absolutely murdered Jap bikes through the bendies. Bike wasn't to keen to run top end speeds though ( now that was a weave :yikes)

My G/S was taken out to 1000 cc with factory barells and pistons, my GS has the Wossner/ Siebenrock pistons which Moteren Israel sell , in the standard barells.gs has 40 mm carbs.
I prefer the G/S as with the short gearing it pulls well from 70 in top and suits the back roads I ride on which have a 80 km limit.
Up my test hill it crests the summit slightly faster too, but that is probably due to the lower gearing.
The state default limit is 110 km/hr so top speed is not an issue for me, but when I was younger and felt the need for speed my old 93 VFR felt immeasurably better when the red mist was up and I was trying to cover a 55 km leg in 20 minutes!
Never managed, even holding 220 almost all of the way!
