Just sold my 1150GS last week but prior to that noticed that the pre load wasnt doing anything. It turned but had no affect.
Motorworks sell 2nd hand replacment KNOBS for £25 and you can get the shock re filled for £30.
Just thought you may check that yours are all still working as the adjuster can seize if it is left in the same position for a long time.
You may all want to check the action form time to time as it only takes a minute to check.
Bike felt amazing once the preload was dialed in again. I must have been riding on the soft setting for ages and just got used to it.
