Sell it for an RT? What's the GS worth?

Somewhere out there.
I've always struggled to get a comfy riding position on the GS so am contemplating going for a newer 07 onwards RT.

My GS is an 01 with 40k on it, just been MOTd today. Full BMW luggage.
Has had pivot bearings, clutch slave replaced rear shock rebuilt.
Tyres pads and discs all good loads of history includes BMW then owner serviced with the old dealer job here and there.
It runs and rides fine but has come corrosion on the normal places, is blue and white with non servo abs. I'm think it's worth around 3k looking at others Vs mileage.
Possible the wrong forum but has anyone gone from a GS to RT and any thoughts?

3k sounds about right I reckon mate. Had an RT a long time ago and much more comfy than the Gs. Lower and more “in than on”. Good luck.

Have you consider either the ST, a much under valued bike or the R instead of an RT, newer bike for same money or same aged bike for less !

Had an ST snd loved it.
Was a bit small for my 16 stone 6'2" but such a well put together bike, ok, not as comfortable as my RT but much lighter and a wee bit sportier. Another bike that should have kept.

Do they all have the dreaded servo abs?

Most do, but in theory 06/56 ones shouldn't. Although it is possible the odd ST was registered late, I feel it unlikely that any dealer would have one sitting in the show room, they didn't really sell that well, so any about were planned purchases.

As for an 05/55 plate, yes but we are talking on a 14 year old bike so either it is still working fine or it broke years ago.

I think you'd be doing pretty well to get £3k

Having spent a LOT of time recently before buying my GSA, a GS of that spec is more likely to go for under £2-£2.5k

But... it's officially Spring, so the buyers are waking up... you might be lucky!

BTW, RTs are lovely!

I had an 06 for a while. Still miss it!
