Giving my bike a quick inspection this morning noticed the sensor was loose and a right b to get at. However when i tried to tighten it with my fingers the cable was twisting with it. Is this normal and simply tighten up regardless of twisting the cable?

As un-technical and pizzed as I am:

when taking it off the cat the cable twists , and you fit it back on the y so it returns to origional position.

Sure someone here has a torque setting for it though as thers a copper washer lurking in there also.

Ok thanks like to ask before i bugger it up!
All the best

When I installed my y-piece we took the safe route and unplugged the wires from the harness up top, carefully pulled out the wires to be clear from the sensor, removed the sensor and then reversed the process with the y-piece in place. It might take a bit longer but one doesn't have to worry about broken wires or intermittent sensoringinging.

Sorted it last Sunday,i dropped the exhaust off put a few anti clockwise turns in the cable and refitted it.
