Sept Trip Down This Way

Reading through the first ten or so threads there seems to be quite a few people heading in the same sort of direction i am. IE poland, Slovakia, Romania, Balkans etc. My final Destination hopefully is Lake Van in Eastern Turkey.

Anyone know why there are a few people saying avoid Hungary?

Leave UK on 31 Aug, hoping to be back around 24 Sep.

Happy to meet up for a few beers and maybe ride part of the trip if anyone fancys it?

actually - it is a bit difficult to avoid Hungary - it is rather flat and the people are quite serious!! But fine for a visit and it is alleged that Hungarian girls are hot....
Remember to buy a matrica for the highways - for the cost it is worth it!

Always up for a beer here in Brasov (though away 3rd - 12th Sept in Azerbijian - then Serbia for a few days) .....

Thanks Gav, i was going to go for hungary despite people saying not to.

Pity about the beer, i have wanted to go to Brasov for years but never got the chance..... actually i will probably be on the return trip about 18/19 Sep

I'm heading that direction leaving UK on the Hull/Rotterdam ferry on the 29th of August, I'll be pasing through Hungary and onto Romania, always up for

Sounds good dave, me and Al dont ever have a trip itinerary so we should be free to meet up just about anywhere.

Poston this thread where you will be and we will see if a night out is on the cards.

Hungary

I've had only good experiences in Hungary. Came in from Croatia, stopped over in a place called Szekszard and then Budapest and exited for Bratislava. Language (and road signs) is a bit tough to understand but the people are friendly enough. True what they say about the women too. Very pretty.

We are heading that way on Friday 28th September and heading for Bosnia, Macedonia and that sort of area as want to look at all the places that got shot to hell in the war when i was there a while ago and to see how different it is now.

We are also heading down that way on the way to Turkey, it’s looking like we will be catching a very early boat to Calais on Sat 29th Sept. What way are you heading down? Could possibly meet up for a or 2!
