Serow kick-start problems

Having bought a new spring for the kick-start and rebuilt it doesn’t ‘string back’.
I can’t see what is the problem. (spring was broken)
The only manual I have is from the PDF down load that covers the later no kick-start model.
Has anyone a manual that could scan the relevant page(s) for me, tearing my hair out (and there isn’t much to start with) trying to sort this one.
I will have to try and source a manual to cover this model, but need the info sort of now. Anyone got the manual that covers the early (86-87) models?
Any assistance would be very gratefully received.

I'm sure the Serow site had a photo fit job of someone fitting a kicker to a none kicker model.

Thinking on, it may have been the USA site..
