Service Campaign - G650X series - New Battery

I believe a Service Campaign recall was issued in the last 2 weeks for all G650's (certainly XChallenges) for a new better battery, irrespective of the age and whether the bike is still under warranty

So the dealer will fit you a brand new battery

My bike is just over 2 years old and the battery has never been a problem on mine, but I gather some people have had lots of trouble

Ring your dealer now, i did today and i'm getting a new battery later in the week

Never had a problem with mine either but its 2 and half years old now so a freebie new one would be nice whatever.

Unfortunately not I gather, Andy.......................just G650X series the dealer told me...............so we're all getting free batteries

The HP2 lot have uesd up their warranty quota on new forks

Thanks once more. I also havent any problems with my battery, though its normally connected to my optimate when in the garage. I'll make the call.

Just off the pnone with Bahnstormer. It's not a recall as such but they will replace the battery next time it's in for a service

Definately worth a call if your a DIY servicer.

Had my XC battery replaced under warranty 2 months ago

But they still want to give me a new one

my battery died in the middle of Yakutia. You have no idea how hard it was to fina a suitable replacement out here. hope BMW will still give me a replacement when i return to uk in October!

Got my battery changed this morning by SLM.

They even offered to wash the bike for me but I declined.
