Hi,
We are departing UK for our RTW on 02-01-09. We will be visiting friends in Malaga and Gib for a cpl of days on route. The bike (1200 GSA) will need a service around Malaga, Gib, Morocco. I'm getting Tyres organized to be delivered to my mate in Malaga and wondering if anyone knows of somewhere I can get the bike serviced and maybe get the tyres fitted at the same time. Tyre fitting is not my premier concern but would like to get the service done before we hit Africa.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Kev

tyres

Are there no tyre shops in Malaga? or your tires are custom made? :)
From my experience you’d be spending more money buying them in a service shop and fitting them in another. You'll be paying both.

I'm sure you're very morocco focused, but till you leave Europe you're still in Europe. Spain is not a 3rd world country. There are tyre shops everywhere, and if you buy them there they will not charge you extra for fitting them.

You’d be amazed by the number of beemers that you’ll find in Spain. It almost seems there are no other bikes there! :)

Cheers!

Thanks for the reply Mac,
I realise that Spain is not a 3rd world country and that there may well be tyre shops in the areas that we will be visiting, however, not knowing of any in the area (although my mate who lives in Malaga is on the case!) and the prices that they charge, I have found cheap tyres online http://www.pneus-online.es/. From past experience here in UK, buying online and getting fitting done elsewhere is usually the cheaper option, although that may be because we live in Rip Off Britain and might be different elsewhere. So if anyone knows of any tyre shops that stock TKC 80's and prices in Malaga I'd be interested to hear, also, if there is a BMW service center nearby.
Cheers

There is a new (brand new) BMW Mottorrad place in Algeciras.

It's on the main duel carriageway after the turn off for the port, just before the 08KM exit, on the right opposite the Honda dealer. It has the full range of bikes and a service department.

Location N 36 09.162
W 05 27.268
