Hi guys
As no-one seems to know of any airhead independent mechanics in the wilts area it looks like my only other option is to try to do it myself.
Where is the best place to buy the parts for a service(best price/speed of delivery).
Is the servicing of these bikes pretty straight forward.??

Servicing is very easy as long as you have a little mechanical knowledge.

If you can get to your local BMW dealer then you may find that they are the cheapest for quality parts.

Don't skimp on the quality of filters. I've had cheap airfilters that swell up when damp effectively killing performance by cutting off the airflow.

20/50 engine oil. and do make sure your gearbox and final drive oil is at least GL5 spec - needs to be 80/90 GL5 - It's usually called transmission oil instead of gearbox oil. The GL4 spec stuff just isn't good enough.

make yourself a manometer for balancing the carbs or get a set of Carbtune gauges. with such low power bikes having the carbs spot on is everything.

Have you got a Y piece fitted?

Moto-bins, Motorworks, Sherlocks or even a BMW dealer can supply the required parts.

As for doing it yourself, it is quite straight forward but a manual (Clymer or Haynes) will be of great benefit.

A bit of care is required with the oil filter but do a search and you will find all the info you need on the site.

Hope that helps.
