Setting bike up for track day?

Hmmmm I think 13.20ish onwards shows Mr Halsall's true pace.

How did you get on with the NEXT tyres Bear?

He's a joy to watch. On your S1000r would you have even able to overtake him or were you purposely staying behind him for the video?
No dave is a lot faster than me. Fair enough my bike would beat his bike on the straights but as dave is an ex champion road and enduro racer and basically lives on a bike he could probably beat me on a 125. I did a tour of the alps with Dave and believe you me he is the fastest road rider I have ever seen. Panniers down on every corner.

I had no issues at all with the new Next on the front. Considering I had it fitted only a few days ago I never had to give it a second thought. Let's just say there are definately no chicken strips on it after Cadwell.

Hey The Bear and thebuyer, it was great to meet you two, and Mr Bear - I got spanked by thebuyer on my first free lapping in the afternoon! Apparently the Triple Blacks are quicker. Last two sessions I settled down but found myself stuck behind people who wouldn't let me past and the auto cancelling indicator drove me up the wall.

I really hope there's another BRD next year as I would love some more time with their instructors. I'd happily pay a bit extra next year for 30min sessions like we had instead of the 20minute format that they might revert to.

You realise we must have done about 140miles going round in circles!! I was definitely ready for teddy 'n' cocoa when I got in.

It was a great day wasn't it. And Cadwell is the perfect size for being able to remember every bit of the track. I'm still smiling from the day, the instruction was perfect and the way Hopp organise the event is first class.

The problem I had with the indicators was that I had to use them to try and get past people. It's all terribly civilised :-D

Anyway, the fact that I had to keep pressing it every 200 odd metres drove me up the wall! One used to be able to get BMW to remove the auto cancelling feature but the mothership in Munich removed this option from dealer computer systems :-( the best one can do is now have it set to a maximum distance of X, whatever that is.

Good to hear you guys had a great time. You can always try the Bike Magazine road bikes only track days if you fancy another go. It is held in conjunction with MSVT so have a look on their website. Last one for the year is at Cadwell Park on 30 September.

That's what i understood - 500 metres I think - BUT I bought a new R1200R last month & the local dealer said that they could switch the Auto-cancel off, & they did. I know not how they did it :-)

I was there too, on the track in the morning, 2010 grey GS, dressed in black/black/black. What a cracking way to spend a day:bounce1 !! I used to do trackdays on my Ducati 900SS a while ago, so really enjoyed the free session !! Might try Hopps road course soon.

Photo cd arrived today.
