Shetland Again!

Heading up there again towards the end of October for a week or so!

Probably staying at Voe Sail loft and meet up with my Belgian K75RT riding friend Guido who's building a 22foot Shetland boat while living in the floating boathouse at Voe. I'll be trying out the great food at the Pierhead aswell as the bakery over the road.

Went up there last year on the HP2 and it was blowing a hoolie but great fun aswell as empty roads and lots of wildlife. It was so windy the windows blew in at the sailloft which was a bit drafty one night.

This time it's a more comfy and longer legged GSA 30 so i'm looking forward to exploring some of the 600 miles?? of Shetlands roads again.

Did it cost any extra to book outwith their normal season?

We are on Shetland at mo, this year in car, last year came on bikes (roughly same week).

Must say it is much busier up here this year than last (yet the ferry was virtually empty).

Last year was very windy, but dry ish, got a bit of snow going over tops.

This year very sunny, T-shirt weather when the sun out ! Northern Lights gave a good show last night too (car registered 0'C on way back to our holiday lodge, wondered why I had felt cold!).

Just had a look in Johnnie Notions Bod, nobody staying at moment but from the lady we talked to no problem being out of season. Really lovely spot, well off the beaten track though. £6 a night bargain, think we are going to give this a try next time we come on bikes.

Johnny Notions looks great, I had a look in there last year but there was no heating or electricity........Hardcore!!

Have a look at the Sail loft in Voe it's huge and look out for the Belgian in the floating shed building his 'Shetland Boat'

£6 for a night in a camping Bod is a real bargain, costs more for a tent space in a campsite.
