Ship my GS to Netherlands or purchase a new one?

Looks as though my permanent move to the Netherlands from the U.S. will likely happen in the next couple of months.

I would rather ship my R12GS that I purchased here in April 2006 if it is not cost prohibitive. Does this make sense? What is involved?

But if you intend to register it in Holland you may have some very expensive problems to sort out as your bike is US spec it will not have a European certificate of conformity.
 
Again, this depends on how he's coming... I've got my Canadian car here and it was no problem... I can even sell it on with some minor modifications.... Now... going the other way is simply impossible... My current 1200GS (and our VW Camper) stays here =( (Unless we stay here for another 9 years....)

I would be registering it in Holland as we currently have no intention of returning to the U.S.
