Shipping a bike to Greece

You might not have time in the area but there's quite a bit to see both North and South of Rafina, and Evia is a really chilled island to explore, has a totally different feel compared to the mainland.

I was wondering about Evia, after I get back from Iraklia (earthquakes permitting) I could get a ferry there and then head north. I was wondering if it was all a bit too populated but that’s encouraging

Evia is surprisingly under populated, particularly on the East Side, and the small roads in the mountains are mostly deserted.
Some stunning coastal roads North of Kymi.

Prone to going on fire !

I think Mark Hatto is transporting bikes to Venice later this year and getting a ferry south with them. Not sure if he could help get the bike there or near. I'm hoping to ride the GS to Greece in may but I don't think the xt will fit on the back.

I’m sorted thanks, got a transport booked late April

So it was, sorry. No help to me as I'm in the overcrowded South East of England!
I’m in the Highlands but it’s an easy ride to them and I’ll have a night somewhere on the way, it’s all part of the trip

So, I dropped the bike off last week in Gorey, nice folk to deal with and it all seemed organised and efficient. I’ll confirm that statement hopefully on Friday when I get my bike and kitbag in Greece.

Bike booked on the transport to Greece again for next year, might take my Transalp this time, see some of the mainland. I don’t need to decide till the time, my bikes all fit into their category 2.
Some folk think the drop off in Ireland is a downside, I see it as a wee trip of its own and certainly preferable to the M6 etc

This Norfolk bike transporter apparently transports bikes to/from Greece, I've not used them, so it's not a recommendation from me, but may be of interest to someone. I did a bike trip to Greece several years ago, was a 5 week trip and rode all the way there/back.

Normally I’d ride there and back but I don’t have time just now, can’t be away for that long so transport sorts it.

There used to be a few companies in the UK did similar but most stopped after Brexit, the VAT implications were, I believe, to blame.
