Well...a bit later than advertised, here we go.
The Contis were awesome 'straight from the box'.
I took them out for a quick scrub-in on the day they were fitted and they`ve been a revelation from the start.
Even allowing for the difference in new tyres compared to old,I`ll say they`re vastly superior to my beloved and highly recommended MT90`s.
They have no 'tip in ' effect found on some dual purpose tyres..though to be fair the Contis aren`t exactly 'block pattern' by any means..they are very much road biased in both compound and tread pattern.
The MT90`s gave oodles of feedback and I always felt confident on them,in any kind of weather, but the Contis allow even more banking over while still giving feedback....beyond the point where the MT90`s were feeling a tad 'twitchy' while right over on the block edges.
The GS turns in effortlessly and perhaps a tad quicker than previously, and at all speeds it is definately more precise.
Walking pace feet up U turns are definately easier, and slow crawling behind town traffic gives no 'wandering' that can sometimes happen with block treaded tyres.
I`ve done 250 miles on the Contis up to now....220 of them yesterday on a ride out with 116Monkey on his new GS.....We rode everything from smooth wet town tarmac, wet country lanes and dry dual carriageways to Welsh mountain passes (broken tarmac surface with loose gravel patches) and there wasn`t the slightest slip, slide or any kind of moment at all from the Contis.
I`m running them on 36psi front and 42psi rear.
I`m totally impressed and recommend them on a confidence and performance basis.
Just need to see how they compare for tyre wear now.
