Has anyone any feedback regarding the above helmet, I tried one yesterday and it fits my (strange) head shape perfectly, and their description reads as if it absolutely brilliant !! I currently use an Arai road helmet on my GS which isn't really practical, although I have only had my bike for a couple of weeks.:mmmm

Excellent helmet, never found Shoei helmets to be comfortable but their changes to the shell sizing seem to suit my "Arai" head.

I find the Hornet very comfortable, quieter than my previous Tour x and the pinlock visor system is fantastic.

Highly recommended. :thumb

 Shoei make different helmets with different head shapes as there are essentially 2 head shapes in this world, round and long and thin so actually when people say that they have a shape of one manufacturer they are talking out of their arse. Even Arai do not make helmets with just one inner shape, - just that those that are imported here have one shape. Buy an Aria overseas and it could have a different fit.

If thats the case then why don't the manufacturers offer both shapes for the relative size. I've tried quite a few BM and schuberth helmets and they absolutely will not fit my shape of head. Arai's fit absolutely cock on with shoei a close second.

Or maybe I've just dreamt all the time I've spent trying on probably over 30 helmets over the last 10 years and am talking out my arse:rolleyes:

simple economics, - like shoes helmets are bloody tough to make money out of because you have to stock so many options on sizes to just sell one.

The Arai importer chooses to bring in only one inner shape that will suit the majority of people, - just like they choose to bring in the colour options that they think we will buy, - they leave plenty out if you look at the Arai japan website.

Shoei do not offer the same helmet in 2 inner designs but they have introduced different models that do have the rounder Aria shape.

I have the Arai head, but just tried a new 08 model Shuberth S1 pro and it's looovly.

That's not my experience. Both my wife and I have Arai Signets that we bought in California and they fit us perfectly. I also have a Tour X which I bought here in the UK. Again, it fits me perfectly, whereas I can't get on with Shoeis at all.

To get back on thread..........the guy was asking about the helmet not a discussion on head shapes!

Been the owner of a Hornet for a few months now, first time with this style of helmet, been very pleased with it so far. Kept my road helmet as I thought I might need it for higher speed motorway runs but the Hornet seems fine for all occasions.

Some people have put forward the opinion that the peak is a bit short but I've not experienced any problems even with lower Winter sun.

Now they've been out a few months the price appears to be dropping slightly as well.

Regards Bob

I used a Hornet for 3 years but have had a TourX for last 2 and much prefer the latter.

Depends what fits,as always.

The Tour X is my first Arai, after having had Shoeis for many years.

Thanks guys for all the info. Think I will give the Hornet a try.

I have never owned a peaked helmet before and was keen to try one, but very worried about speed issues. Tried the Tour X , but put off by peak vibration complaints on this site. Tried a Hornet and it fitted my head shape perfecly, so ordered one

Fitted the Autocom and took it for an 80mph blast and instantly surprised at how smooth the helmet is in aurflow, in fact WOW, what have I been missing?
So much so, that I am beginning to wonder if some of the GS buffeting complaints are more helmet related ?

Of the type the Hornet is the one to get, tour x's are like a clitorus, every c**ts got one

Had both Tour X and Hornet.

The latter is far superior in every way-lighter,more comfortable, quieter, much less buffeting.

But,bit like a Twat suit,it seems you need a Tour X to complete the Total **** look.
