Show us your Harley

But with an enclosed belt primary drive that had a habit of shredding every payday.

I guess it was early days, 'cos that was the first production belt primary on an HD,

I suppose they hadn't quite got it sorted... :augie

Incredibly cool looking bike though!

Here's mine. Had it from new in 1996. I've been all over Europe on it and it's been utterly reliable........oops, probably pushing my luck saying that....

Things you need to know::rob
  • You can wear an open face helmet as you won't be going that fast :blast
  • at 30 mph rain and flies still hurt if you do :yikes
  • jeans and a leather will be fine
  • old fat blokes look dreadfull in baggy leather trousers :toungincheek

Remember the golden rule: you can only have 3 Harley logos and two are on your tank. Any more looks :ymca

But most of all: it doesn't matter as long as you ride it :bounce1

Simply great motorcycles.

19k miles in 21mths and reliability even better than my '98 R1100GS and I thought that was good.

Don't let engine shake at tickover fool you; once moving the ride is as smooth as anything from any manufacturer and somehow you're still aware there's a big V twin bangin' away - may be it's the exhaust note - I don't know, but it's good.

Comfort good enough for 5hrs in one hit and one tankful [330miles] if necessary.

As close to zero maintenance as a bike can get. No valve lash nor injection to balance.

Not all good though. HD habit of fitting substandard parts then letting bikes leave the factory with barely adequate performance knowing owners will buy replacements [stage 1, seats etc].

Nicest bike I've owned bar none.

What height is your screen

cos that looks to be a nice height and with a slight tint to it looks much better . I find the original a tad to tall for me being 5,8 . Is it an after market or original cheers . Jay
