Show us your Harley

I'll be there :D

and me..... (still need to buy a Harley first though,..)

now here's an idea..... i have a small house in France, Brittany..... i can sleep 6-8 in various beds / bunks etc and another 4 or so tents in the garden... (i have a couple of acres of field, but that takes "basic" a little too far!..... ok we will need a bog and shower rota.... but the roads are fannytastic..... we are about 6 hours from the tunnel, but nice roads all the way down.... so Friday down... BBQ/Beer.. Saturday the coast for Mussels and frites.... back for a BBQ and Vin/beer.... Sunday bimble back for a early evening tunnel.....

the first cross channel UKGSER/HoGS event!

cos that looks to be a nice height and with a slight tint to it looks much better . I find the original a tad to tall for me being 5,8 . Is it an after market or original cheers . Jay

Hi Jay

It's the HD aftermarket slightly shorter screen. I could measure it if you like but it's in the roof space of the garage at the moment. I found it a bit too low so cut a couple of inches off the standard one. I like to just look over the screen but still be protected from wind blast and rain. I can't stand looking through a wet screen at the road surface ahead.

I should probably try it out again as my Corbin seat (and my posture!) has 'settled' a bit over the years and it may work better now. If not I might be persuaded to sell it :augie

They were :D

It was 1990, I was easier about it...

Here's my 'noisy one' from 1990. The novelty soon wore off and I fitted nice, mellow, tuneable, Stainless, 2:1 Supertrapps.

:thumb2 Well spotted David, right on nearly all counts. It was an FXST. The C had a black crinkle finish engine, solid rear wheel and quilted seat. I got the quilted seat as a free extra when I bought it new from Moto Vecchia in Dorking. Also fitted PM brakes, SE discs, Mikuni HS40 carb and DynaS single fire ignition.
I REALLY wish I still had it. I tried to replicate it with a 2008 NightTrain a while back but it just didn't work for me so I sold it. Brilliant though they are the later bikes just don't give me the same visceral feeling that the Evo does.

umm some nice bikes there Nick, well not sure about the paintwork on 1 of them. :) - but if we all had the same taste you would be after my wife!

Anybody else share the opinion that Harley franchise dealers second hand bikes are damn expensive? - Understand that they need to keep the perceived value high to attract buyers to their new bikes, but jeez! Any pointers to good independent bike dealers that are not afraid of stocking a Harley or 2? Looks like I have a bit of redundancy money to spend soon, and might as well turn a negative into a positive!

Totally agree...

IMHO the best engine is the Evo, and the best bikes are from the mid 80's to the mid 90's...

There's just no way I'd have anything made after 1999 :D

I'd look on eBay, or the HDRCGB Forum...

Trouble is, hundreds of good Evo's have been bought by European buyers, 'cos they're (to them) relatively cheap.

This can make it hard to find unmolested bikes... seeing as a lot have been 'customised' as a result of their owners misguided attempts at individuality.
