If you fancy a Harley Rally

This is the big bash for the HDRCGB. Some of you are probably already members (I'm the Region 25 Rep).

They love the bikes, hate the MoCo and don't dress like HOG :ymca

There will be some decent bikes on show, a great party and a lovely camp site :thumb

GSers HD outing

France next year sounds good, bed preferably (less luggage) but just as happy to take a tent.

I could do a weekend away late Sept/early Oct this year.

What do people think about staying in a pub or B&B somewhere for the Friday and Saturday, or even just the Saturday night? There are plenty of destinations that involve good riding, like Wales for instance. We could organise ourselves into small groups for the ride there and meet for beer and bullshit in the evening :beerjug:

I'll be away, on a 'family holiday' :blast

I've just got back from hospital this evening having had an operation on a tendon in my hand (torn off-roading a couple of weeks ago). The upshot is that my clutch hand is in plaster and immobilised for at least 4 weeks :blast :tears

So I can't make this one either, but it would be a good 'un. I was a member of HDRCGB for years and everything Mutley says is true about them.

BlackBob

Silencers were taken off to do some welding on the baffles, and while off I cleaned everything up just before picture was taken.

Tyres ... don't believe everything you see; this bike has waded through fords, ridden across Forest tracks and done 100+ miles in a biblical storm. This ain't no weekend bike. Had to have it resprayed after one off-road event went slightly wrong......

Had a discussion about RTW on an HD or a GS on the HDRCGB site. They didn't like it when I said you can knock in a nail with a rock or a hammer, it's just better using a hammer :proff

umm some nice bikes there Nick, well not sure about the paintwork on 1 of them. :) - but if we all had the same taste you would be after my wife!

Anybody else share the opinion that Harley franchise dealers second hand bikes are damn expensive? - Understand that they need to keep the perceived value high to attract buyers to their new bikes, but jeez! Any pointers to good independent bike dealers that are not afraid of stocking a Harley or 2? Looks like I have a bit of redundancy money to spend soon, and might as well turn a negative into a positive!

I had a good chat with the owner of Harley Davidson San Jose a while back.

It was quite interesing - he said that he only sold 2nd hand bikes if they were very well known to him.

At that time he didnt have a single 'pre owned' bike in stock

Problem is all the dodgy tuning that gets done to them.

Real nice guy - total salesman but in a way you could respect.

Had just shipped 10 Sportsters to Liverpool. - they were so cheap, I think the bike cost was about £3500 (new)

I have started thinking about big Harleys after seeing 'normal' motorcyclists using them in Europe, textile clothing, full face and they even wave

Certainly look like they can carry some gear !

Aussie dollar has just $1,10 US and likely to go to 1.20 in a couple of months.

However, as of 1 august Harley factory have 'decreed' that no official USA dealership can supply ANY parts or bikes abroad...

WTF !!!

I wear an old Tuareg jacket, a Nolan N103 flip lid, and yup, I wave too :D
