Side Panel Removel

Can any body tell me how to remove the Tank Side panels from my bike. I have undone the to quick release catches and the on at the front on the inside but it still does not want to come off.

There's a further screw on each panel on the inside edge (right at the front bottom corner of each one).

On my bike, this is NOT a quick release fitting.

You get at it by reaching through the forks under the beak.

i had the same with mine, i just gave it a good pull and it came free - there is a pin on the panel that goes thru a rubber grommet and this had become stuck.

same as, release the 3rd screw, not quick release, then feel arount where the lugs are, pull carefully around that area, they can be a little tight. it will come just dont pull in the wrong spot.

Side panel blew back double check when replacing

I have a 06 model and the side panel come out of the front rubber and struck against my left knee at 80 mph it gave me a shock, pulled over and and bent back the fasteners that the quick release connect to, the panel below has a crazed finish now will need repalcing or spraying. So make sure you have pressed the panel at the front well iton the rubber grommet.

It shouldnt have off/out if the forward fastner INSIDE the panel was secure - check if u have the quick relese 1/2 turn type( black plastic knob) or if someone has replaced it with a screw as fitted to later models becuase panels were coming off!
