Hi all, my side stand is worse than useless, I only trust it when parked on a camber with no wind likely to blow it over. Are they all the same or has something worn over time? Not sure putting a big foot extender on it would change anything , the COG seems to far over to me. Any thoughts ?

Pretty sure the 1100 is the same as the 1150 and the pivot pin and bushes can wear.
It gets a bit floppy.
The Illustrated Parts Cattledog on MaxBMW will show all the parts and what might be worn.
I do need to look at my 1150 and make that better too.

Some more thinking, but i cant check because all my bikes are elsewhere at the moment, and MaxBMW is too hard on my cell phone.
I think there is a bracket that has a large bolt and a smaller bolt, or some locating bit against the case or center stand.
That may have come loose and allowing some slop and wiggle.
Have a look there too.

Ok, thankyou. I cant check and couldnt remrember.
11s lean more than you want but little things like slightly higher shocks or chunky tyres can make it worse... I've had 5 and never really had a problem with stand wear... Try putting a piece of wood or similar under to mimic a hockey puck... It might make all the difference and I've recently put one on mine after the original chunky of hardwood "puck" disintegrated...
Just got my old 1996 bike back on the road and have in the past tried to attach a puck, lifting the bike up a bit when on the stand but found it caused an issue with the main stand.
Could you please provide some photos of you attachment method, thanks.
What you do is get a Stanley knife blade and trim the corner off where it's gets in the way... Also stops hitting the exhaust heat shield... I'd get photos but it's under a wee bit o snow at the mo...

Twice mine flipped over when on a trip with lots of luggage.
I got a camel foot and changed my varios for aluminium panniers which were lower.
Didn’t have any problems after that.
It was a bit heavy but I’m tall and strong - my 1200 TC leans over even more

I had a Wunderlich foot extender and screwed a 10mm thick piece of mylon to the bottom of it. Worked well, but was a bit of a PITA especially abroad when the camber of the road made it difficult to use the stand. In the end I got a hockey puck, drilled a hole through the side and threaded on a long bootlace. This allows me to drop it into position as and when needed.
