Silicon Gel/Grease

Any recommendations for what sort of silicon grease/paste etc I should be using for sealing up some connectors? Fitting a GPS cable and want to make sure the connector block is water tight, what should I be using to do this?

I use dielectric silicone grease. I buy mine from Maplins it lasts for ages and seems to do a great job

I asked the same question a few months ago and someone recommended I visit a gun shop, so I did. I just asked for silicon grease, bought a small tub, and smeared a little around the microphone and speakers connections on my Zumo.

However, so far I haven't been out in weather sufficiently harsh to test the weatherproofing this has supposedly provided, so I can't say one way or the other whether this has worked...
