After seeing the paint on this thread for the k75c.. I want it for my own

http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=277419&highlight=k75c

I rang around and http://www.vinnybyrnestore.com/ are ordering it in for me...
in case anyone else needs it.. I know there are a few projects going on out there. :hammer

I know you could get it from fleabay.. but the postage was saucy in most cases (£8 per item and £5 for ever additional)

Better or worse than Smoothrite satin?

Not come across this stuff before, but I've had dome good results with smoothrite :thumb2

Did you have those parts bead blasted before you painted them? I need to do my timing case, and powder coating is expensive. Might try painting like you did.
Thanks,
Damien

Hey Fanum..

hadnt seen hammerite's offering before... I must try that as well...

cheers

Yeah Omen I blasted these myself.. I have a small compressor.. and a shot blasting unit... made a blasting cabinet out of a barrel... I use garnet (non toxic mineral) to blast the parts.. works perfect..
apart from my frame and engine which I got blasted and Powder-coated.. I am doing all the parts myself..

I got a GS1200 engine front cover bead-blasted and powder-coated for £25 at a local wheel place.

Like the satin black look, though:thumb2

Hammerite should be available at your local Halfords

I always use PJ1 satin - works well :thumb2 I made a blasting cabinet just using ply and an old car window and use glass beads. .... here's a photo of an XT500 engine I did using PJ1:

that engine mount is nifty as well.. did you knock that up yourself?
I'd love to say yes - but a mate knocked it up for me for an XS650 I rebuilt... worked well for several other engines since :thumb2
BTW Horsepower.ie do the PJ1 paint...
