I've always thought the rear fender on the GS look a bit outdated compared to the rest of the bike. I like the classic look, but want to modernise it just a tad. So I combined the original fender with an Acerbis Nost rear fender.
I think the results aren't to bad. basically I chopped up the original and split it into 2 pieces. still used the original front bit to keep dirt off the battery.

Me to, and I feel the same about the exhaust.

I also went with the Acerbis, plus the number plate/back light extension, which I like the look of. There are probably a few 'bleedin obvious' items worthy of note though if you go down this route:

- the guard doesn't go all the way around so leaves the battery compartment exposed. Someone suggested to me stretching an old innertube over the gap, or I could also use part of the origianl guard similar to what you have done (just cut away more).

- the colour of guard differs from BMW white so you'll need to paint (unless you like different colours).

Photos of the guard in this thread if interested

I'm sorry, I dont want to be a killjoy. It looks a great job but I dont think it looks any better than the original. The bike does look brill but I honestly dont see the ppoint of the revamped mudguard, However if it floats your boat, absolutely fine.. Thanks for showing us though.
