Hello Switzerland Bikers,

If the weather is reasonable, me and my better half will be going to the SK Motoparts open day (Touratech dealers Switzerland) next weekend (25th April). It is only a small event including ride out and slide show - google SK motoparts for infos.

If anyone is going and wants to meet for a drink, let me know.

Gruss

and a few others that will turn up at some stage ... I'm sure we can get togther of a joint "do the passes" at Andermatt!

Welcome Catherine and Gary,

I was at Andermatt on saturday as the Gotthard open for the summer.

The views were fantastic, :D

It looks like the Susten and Grimsel will not the open this week but on the 25th June due to the deep of snow :(

How about a meet up at Altdof end of June ??

St Bernard Pass

Hi Nick,

The Grand St Bernard is open at the moment according to the TCS website (Swiss equivalent of the AA or RAC)

This is the link for future reference:

http://www.tcs.ch/main/de/home/verkehrsinfo/paesse_tunnels.html

Just to explain what the German means>

In beiden Richtungen frei - means open in both directions
In beiden Richtungen gesperrt - means closed in both directions

Alternatively you can look at the map - green means open and black means closed.

Just a word of warning, I was on the Gotthard reasonably early on Saturday morning and saw some ice near the top - just be a bit wary if you are up there early.

Hope you enjoy your trip!

Mike

Check TCS is talking about the actual Col as some of the sites say the Col is open but what they mean is the Péage - the tunnel under the Col.

http://www.swissinfo.ch/ger/verkehrsinfo/index.html?siteSect=490#pass

Is an alternative site.

Now, having wittered on, yes the Col seems to be open - I went to Diablarets from Aigle on the weekend and the locals in Aigle seemed to think it was open. The usual high ones at the end of the Rhone valley are still closed.
