I'm on a replacement (gen 2) Nav 6 for navigation, just changed to MRA for planning. I'd possibly switch to the connected app if it could skip waypoints. Or to MRA Nav if it worked with the whizz wheel. The whizz wheel is table stakes for me, I'd really miss it.
Skipping waypoints with the connected app and cradle works ok for me, tracks are a disaster.

That's good to know, thanks! What is it about tracks that doesn't work (I haven't used the cradle / app, just going on forum reports etc)

If you mean you can’t skip in tracks…… that’s because tracks have no way/via points.

Or did you mean something else?

Based on when I import a track from Kurviger, if I deviate from the track the connected app will try to route me back to a point on the track but it’s not entirely clear or consistent where along the tracks length. This can often be a point that I have passed 5 miles previously.
I may be wrong, but my understanding is that tracks shouldn’t be ‘navigated’ just displayed. If you leave a track its your own responsibility to get back on it.
Otherwise I really like the app, routes with waypoints seem to work well.

The Connected app deals with tracks differently than the way a Garmin device does.

As you have discovered, the Connected app effectively ‘navigates’ the track, as opposed to simply displaying it, as a Garmin device would. This can lead to some oddities, should you deviate from the track.
