Was coming towards the skipton roundabout on the A59 tea time tonight and a dark blue rr evoke came flying past the other way with flashing blue lights in the grille.

He must have been doing 80 mph plus.

Is that the police ? Or have the fire service gone upmarket?

Could well be fire service - someone high up in the brigade would have their personal car all blues n twos equipped so they can get to the office quicker. :D

Note the time of incident..TEA TIME....

Emergency Dough Nut Delivery vehicle :thumb

could be lots of things now, I know some bloke on his company car he's got bluelights and sirens....

and he's just a computer engineer.....

Green lights are pointless as they afford no exemption and are antiquated. Many Pre Hospital doctors respond in their own vehicles under the ambulance service umbrella.

First thought was its police, youngish driver in a white shirt. Thought some of the worldly wise on here might know for definate....farming country so would make sense to have the odd 4x4.

Derbyshire have some very slick unmarked vehicles, not what you would expect either, pimpsters in uniform .

Not just pre hospital. I know a vascular surgeon who is on call for any severe trauma that needs him in the NE. He has (covert fit) blue lights on his cars to enable him to get in quickly.

Zombie thread!

I'm pretty sure that's a fire service car you're referring to. And I'm pretty sure the driver is one of my best mates.

Plus he rides bikes so if you were tramping on, knowing him, he'll have been well impressed!

Same with the Met - they even have a Repsol replica Fireblade, ridden by a guy in Marquez leathers. I saw the bike a few weeks ago, flying along the Euston Road with full blues and twos...
