I am thinking of replacing the standard exhaust with a slip on, BUT...
I am concerned (having read on a previous thread on the lean running of the 1200 GS) about engine longevity.
In my experience if you want to extend your mileage - keep your vehicle standard. I don't seem to see many high-mileage vehicles - cars or bikes with high performance gear - in fact the "better" ones (in condition) are kept standard. I would like to keep my 1200 for as long as possible (I have seen 1150's with 70 000 - 90 000 km and still going strong)
The question is:
Will a slip-on pipe cause any long-term damage to the bike?
Comments?
Thanks
