Hi i'm new here,

i've had my gs for a few months and love it!!

i fancy making a few improvements already tho :augie

the main issue is how slippy the seat is, seem to move around on it alot more than i'm used on jap sports bikes.

i used to use a triboseat off ebay on my gixxer for the rear so the missus could stay on.

i fancy a corbin seat if they do em for the gs but they cost a fortune!

any ideas or do i just get used to it?

thanks in advance

I have an idea, in Hein Gericke (eBay, etc etc) you can pick up this weird material, a criss cross pattern that is usually sits between a tank bag and the tank, it is also used in cars to sit on the dashboard to stop your phone from dancing around.

This stuff is usually pretty good at securing two surfaces, might find it's a very cheap solution to your problem.

Cannot find a better image, but this is what I am on about:

Igotasheepskin

Hi Iwant (or is it Igot now?) try a sheepskin - if you don't like it put it in front of the fire....

My 2 essentials for the GS - sheepskin and muffs, less than £50 and makes the winter a lot warmer.

tony archer etc will recover at a premium,
grippy seat covers can be bought for offroaders , i got one on the drz, perhaps they do one for yours?

If you are sliding forward, a common solution is to set the front of the front seat height on high and the back on low. This levels the seat out. If you have a 1200 that is.

Someone hasn't coated the seat in polish or something like that ...?

It can make regular seat very slippery ... I have heard of a couple of others on another forum doing that ... you just need something to clean the polish off ...

just a thought before you spend out on a new seat/cover

I got mine modified at Saxon Seats for about £90 they recovered it, altered the shape slightly to fit me better and put in memory foam.

Same stuff is available at my local 99p shop. Lots of different colours to choose from, comes in a roll.

Also try arse velcro, available at all good chemists.
