Stopped at Greasy Joe’s “café” in Cirencester for a butty. On restarting the bike there’s a “puff” of blue smoke from the exhaust. Now, I’ve only had the GS ~6 hours so tell me is this a characteristic of the GS engine and I’ve nowt to worry about. At my next stop, Cleeve Hill, no smoke on restarting. Or again later.

Me thinks its time for another ride.

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience

Smoke on start up is perfectly normal if the bike has been left on it's sidestand. "they all do that"

It's to do with the position the oil pump stops in when you switch it off. Sometimes the holes line up and it lets a bit of oil through and other times it doesn't. Just pretend it's world war two and 'Damn you Focker!!!':shoot: :mcgun

Ah, that'd be it then, I parked er on the side stand.

Thanks for the info.

Regards

Tim
