Snape Rake Lane TRO!!

For any NW laners on here, one of my fave lanes in Lancs has been closed. Snape Rake now has a TRO on it. Was totally gutted last weekend when we got to it and saw the sign.

I don't know why they couldn't have just banned the landy's to be honest and left it open to bikes:nenau

Are you sure that Snape Rake Lane is TRO'd? I know there are signs posted, but they warn against off piste driving, ie "The land either side" of the lane. In any case I will drag the old Enfield out and have a look this morning, what better excuse do you need.

The recent history of this lane is that some to55ers in Land Rovers went off piste and made a real mess on the adjoining land as it is megga boggy. This got a bit of negative press and as a result about a dozen Land Rover drivers including myself spent a day down there transforming it. I was surprised how good the result was and there was no trace of the affore mentioned to55ers tracks when we finished.

I heard about the landy's wrecking it. I didn't want to risk it myself, but perhaps I misread the sign. I think I bumped into you on that very lane last year....me and a mate were on GS's, an enfield was coming down the other way...if it was you, you'll remember cos my side stand switched broke at the top of the lane :augie

Yes that was me on the Bullet last year. I have double checked the lane today, and all is well, no TRO.
It's worth noting that a riding stables has opened near the top of Snape Rake Lane, and it is now quite common to meet groups of horses on this lane.
I'm still impressed that you got the GS up there!

Stevie / Doc / MikeTR - lets get a Saturday down there soon, Snape Rake looked a minter to finish on :thumb2

Rougharse - thanks for checking.
