I didn't feel much like going to the post office again, so my wife went there while I had some shopping to do.
I fired up the airhead and off I went.
It was a bit foggy and minus 3°C, but at least there weren't any cyclists in the way.
Or deer
Twenty minutes later, I was entering Holland.
Drive that because it's a bit cold? No way, I'm tough.
Not to mention I have a heated vest, ha!
Next border was Germany. It was sunny by that time.
All of another 20 minutes later!
I went to pick up some throusers at Kohl in Aachen, a BIG bmw dealer.
With proper "bikes only" parking.
Had to try out the new gear, so I did a little detour from there back home.
Them Germans take their wind power seriously.
I was gonna have something to eat here.
Them Germans don't ride in the winter. It was closed
So all hungry I struggled along some more not straight roads and boring views.
Back to the Belgian border.
This is the "Signal de Botrange", the highest point of Belgium at 694 meters above sea level.
With the F16 pilots playing a bit higher!
Down the road I found a monument for 6 Canadians and 1 British airman who lost their lives here during the war.
This is the "Barrage de la Gileppe", a reservoir on the river Gileppe.
It was made in 1878, quite an achievement for those days I'd say.
The little pussycat weighs 300 tons. Note the size of the people down there.
Beats going to the post office doesn't it?
Cheers,
Michel

I could hardly see 100 meters out my office window today - freezing fog almost all day
