I know the feeling - my dealer gave me an i8 for a day, then told me to take it home overnight... I'm still enjoying the flashbacks!
What sort of drug is that? BASTARDS!

After spending week on r1200r loan bike, which was a lot of fun (much more so than the s1000r) it struck me that there is something about the riding position of adventure bikes that makes their power units deceptively slow.
Nothing wrong with a DT175. I took my test on a borrowed DT, so have fond memories. My BSA Starfire had mullered its big-end, again.
Also had a Rallye today while my 2013 GS LC was in for warranty work. 6 miles on the clock, 150 when returned. Smoother amd loved the quick shifter but not a big step on from the earlier bike, particularly the suspension.
Bloody hell. This thing is an absolute weapon, goes like stink, awesome brakes and suspension. How am I meant to go back to my RT now.
Cannot believe the different between the twin cam and the latest boxer engine.![]()

However the screen is pretty pointless and the seat is a bit of a board. Assume these are easy to sort
So after riding it another 150 miles I've came to the conclusion that it almost has everything I liked about my f800gsa and none of the things I disliked (crazy high seat height, lack of oomph and vibes). However the screen is pretty pointless and the seat is a bit of a board. Assume these are easy to sort.
Like folks have said on here the quick shifter is silky smooth however I could definitely live without it. I find myself speeding quite a bit due to the ease of upshifting.
Overall a lovely bike to ride and looks great too.
